How to Use Vitamin E for Hair
The good news is that vitamin E is easy to get through a balanced diet. In fact, vitamin E deficiency is very rare, as most people get enough from the whole and rich foods throughout the day. But if you want to specifically target your hair, vitamin E can also be applied topically with shampoo, conditioner, mask or oil.
Diet for Healthy Hair:
What you eat – and how much – is essential for healthy hair. Lack of calories, micronutrients such as protein or vitamin E can affect hair growth, structure, and loss. Nuts, green leafy vegetables, olive oil, and sunflower oil are among the most abundant sources of vitamin E. It is also found in meat and fortified foods such as breakfast cereals.
Supplements for Healthy Hair:
Although supplements are readily available, they are not required. Most people get enough vitamin E through diet. Some studies have even shown that people can benefit more when they get vitamin E from whole foods instead of supplements.
Supplements may also put you at risk of excessive vitamin E, which can be dangerous. You should always talk to your health care provider before starting a new supplement.
Most vitamin E oils contain a carrier oil that dilutes the oil and helps prevent skin irritation. If you want to use pure vitamin E oil, be sure to dilute the oil properly before use. That is, vitamin E oils are often expensive and difficult to use – they are usually very thick and quickly oxidize when exposed to air.
The best way is to use a hair oil that contains vitamin E as a secondary ingredient. Popular options include:
- OGX Healing + Vitamin E Permeation Oil
- Ancient Greek remedy Oil
- Maple Holistics Avocado Oil
Shampoo and Hair mask
Looking for a cure, can you do it more often without increasing your time? Many shampoos and conditioners contain vitamin E. These products are often formulated for regular use and are commonly used to dry damaged hair.
It is best to let the product stand for a few minutes while continuing your shower procedure to help the product enter the hair and scalp. Look for products that contain essential oils such as lavender, peppermint oil or tea tree oil to increase hair.
Just like the one you want to apply to your face, the hair mask is to soothe or treat the scalp. Although vitamin E oil can help moisturize your lock, your hair can’t be “cured” by it. Instead, focus the mask on the scalp to absorb it.
To make a vitamin E-rich mask at home, mix the following ingredients in a blender:
- 1 avocado
- 1 banana
- 1 tbsp. Avocado oil
- 1 tbsp. coconut oil
- 1 tbsp. Honey
